There seems to be lots of news to tell you about & is a result of me typing and reading away in the office recently. It is just as well when we had the TV ‘switch over’ I made the decision not to get a digi box or buy a new television, making the choice to “try life without a television”!! I was intrigued as to how what had become such a normal part of my life would alter my daily routine. I can safely say that 3 weeks in I have not once missed the option of ‘slumming’ in front of the television, however have enjoyed watching the odd movie and somehow appreciate that time more. As well as the time to potter in the garden and open the stack of books I have gathering dust! There is life beyond the television!!
National Play Day ~ Wednesday 5th August
The day is to celebrate children’s right to play, a national organised event that encourages projects across the UK to run mini or massive events in order to celebrate. We have registered the event with http://www.playday.org.uk/ and will be hosting a celebration in Crowcombe. It will be aimed at families and children with a range of activities on offer to suit all, with this year’s national theme as Make time for play!
Eco-Party Bags
Through popular demand I have looked at ways I can offer party bags with the Woodland Parties without compromising our ethos. I am pleased to announce that we now have small jute bags that can be purchased as Eco-Party Bags; the contents can vary & can be filled yourself. The bags can be re-used ~ re-used ~ re-used,
are climate neutral and can be yours at a small cost!!
Puddies Kitchen
Again, through requests I have explored the idea of providing home-made party cakes; either individual BUG BALL cakes and CUP CAKES and/or a full sized WOODLAND CAKE (various options of design). All these cakes are home crafted using the best local ingredients (including eggs from Puddies chickens), special diets can be catered for.
A final reminder
Of the projects we offer ~ Woodland Playschemes, Woodland Parties, Woodland Educational Days, Woodland Adventure Days and Professional Training for those adults who work with children & young people. See the website for further details.Wild wishes
