Playful adventures for next week...

What utterly stunning weather we are having & long may it last. It was just perfect for spending three days in the woods with George & Maggie from Mountain & Bushcraft Ways this weekend, along with Andy, Steve and visits from Christina, Matilda, Andy, Laura, Claire, Gareth and a few more!

Next week is looming fast and what a feast we have in store!

Thought we throw in making a new game, where we will need to make our own piece of kit...think Robin Hood style!

Lots of Easter themed activities to get involved in and treasure to find! Challenges to engage in and nuts to find! Bring all the family and a picnic in the woods.

Bushcraft Course...this weekend with a new day rate option!

NEW....Day Rate for the course at £50 per day, per person

This weekend we have George and Maggie Yeomans from Mountain & Bushcraft, http://www.guidingonskye.co.uk delivering the Introduction to Bushcraft covering the IOL Foundational Bushcraft Competency Training Course. 


I did this course a year ago and it was brilliant, they are so knowledgable with a wealth of skills at their fingertips ready to share. I came away buzzing with energy, excitement and lots of news skills!

The course details are;
Dates - Saturday 24th to Monday 26th March 2012
Times -  0900 to 1700hrs each day
Cost - For the full three days is £210 per person or if you can only make a day it is £50 per day
Venue - The Woodland Play Centre, Crowcombe, Somerset

Easter Holidays...what's on!

What an amazing day yesterday with another 77 trees planted in the newly planted hedge! I am off to collect another 100 saplings from Monkton Elm Garden Centre tomorrow, with their give-away scheme. Thank you to all the children who brought their Mum's (and Dad's) to the woods for a Mothers Day treat!!

Woodland Training….we aim to run another course in the Autumn this time for Forest School Leaders. Hopefully another Bushcraft course too.

Also we are running a Gruffalo story day in the woods and aim to roll that out to all schools, pre-schools and groups soon!!

I am currently eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first Bluebell to flower....all the green shoots are appearing at speed, i will post lots of photos when they flower! Here is what they were like last year.

Are you planned for Mothering Sunday?

Mothering Sunday is this weekend....have you planned something special for your Mum?

If you have not planned anything, why not come along to the woods for an hour or so in the morning and plant a few trees? We will be there from 1000 - 12noon planting a few more trees in the hedgerow.

Come and enjoy a cup of tea in the beautiful woodland where Spring is really emerging, the bird song is amazing.

Also, don't forget that George and Maggie are running a Bushcraft course in the woods next weekend, it will be well worth it as they are amazing tutors with a wealth of knowledge and skills. You will not be disappointed if you sign up.

Easter Holidays - book now for the Woodland Playschemes and Family Days in the woods....again we never fail to disappoint! Children and adults alike have an amazing time, learn and engage in new skills, are physically active and if you are a working parent it can help with childcare with the extra early bird and night owl options.
